More about Frank Rimbach . . .

Frank Rimbach is an artist and educator.

He earned his Master of Fine Arts from New Mexico State University. Originally from California, he has been in New Mexico and Texas for the past three decades dividing his time between his teaching career and his studio practice.

Previously, he taught Central Texas College (Holloman Air Force Base) and at New Mexico State University. Currently, he teaches courses on Art Appreciation, Drawing (I-II), Design (I), Life Drawing, and Painting (I-II) at the El Paso Community College.

His work can be found at the Mesilla Valley Fine Arts Gallery, in his online gallery and in private collections throughout the United States.

“As an artist, I am interested in balance and harmony. Whether I am painting a landscape or a geometric abstraction, when the work resolves, I feel a sense of completion. If the work draws eye and feeling, then the mind can find a reason for it.

I commonly explore landscape and abstraction in the tradition of Impressionist painting. I am interested in this process as a meditation on the activity of painting and all that it involves.

My work is about life and energy; about the illumination of place and a moment in time: the poetics of observation”.

Great!! See you all next Saturday at the Crossland Gallery!
