Learn how to create and design your own “zine.” That’s short for “magazine.”
A “zine” is a small booklet or paper object published by a single person or a small group, with a circulation of usually fewer than 1000 copies.
These little “zines” pack a huge artistic & creative punch. “Zines” are most often homemade by artists or enthusiasts for the purpose of sharing art, niche skills, or information that could otherwise be suppressed.
Attendee will create their own personal mini “zine” booklet of photos, art, poem and/or stories. We’ll cover everything from the history of “zines,” choosing a format, to coming up with an idea for every page, different ways to fill pages, and how to make copies for distribution. And at the end of the workshop, you get to take home your “zines” and “zine” photocopies.
Materials will be provided; however, attendees are welcome to bring photos, poems, art and such to incorporate into their zine.
So, join us as we explore this fun and trending form of personal expression!
